BALE MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK & SOFOMAR CAVEThe Bale Mountains N.P is known for its wild life, characteristic Flora and Fauna. More than 60 mammal species and 260 bird species are recorded here. The endemic mountain Nyala, Semien Fox, Menelik's bush buck, the giant molerat can be seen here. Wild flowers include geranium, bobelia and alchemilla, Other Afro-alphine plants and many tree species are also witnessed. The second highest mountain in Ethiopia, Tullu Deemtu at 4377 m above sea level, and the Sanette plateau offer a high altitude horse and foot trekking.
About 100 kms east of the park lies the Sof Omar Cave, which is a spectacular underground cave thought to be among the largest underground caverns in the world.

THE OMO VALLEY - TOTAL WILDERNESS
If you are looking for an Ethnological Expedition, the Omo Valley is one not to be missed. Different and very interesting tribes like Mursi, Karo, Surma, Hamer, Dizr, Bumi, Bodi, Banna, Ari, Koygu and others live in this valley which is free from modern human habitation. In this fascinating Savana Elephants, Buffalos, Giraffes, Oryx graze. Among mammals to be seen are: Brucchell's Zebra, greater and lesser kudus, Defassa, water buck, gerenuk & others. The Omo National park and Mago National park are also of major attractions.
